ABO and Rh type are important, but a safe transfusion involves more than matching a letter and a plus or minus sign. Hospitals perform blood typing, antibody screening, crossmatching, infectious-disease testing, and other checks according to clinical requirements.
Use DashBlood’s compatibility reference as an educational starting point only. A social-media post, previous card, or family statement must never replace a current laboratory result and the receiving hospital’s decision.
A person who appears compatible may still be deferred from donating, and a unit that appears compatible may still be unsuitable for a specific patient. The hospital has the final say.
